 1. 1         Teaching methods of the teacher that you observed

In Grade 8 English class, there are several methods that teachers use to teach the class. The teacher divides the class into several sessions, there is a session to practice students' English skills, then a main material session. In motivation or introduction, the teacher invites students to recall the material that was given to them previously. Then for the main material session, the teacher uses a simple explanation regarding the material to be given and then the teacher provides activities according to the topic being studied

1.2          Their learning material and innovation

The material presented is of course related to English, such as grammar, writing and listening. However, most of this material is only studied in a fairly short period of approximately two days and when the material has been discussed it will be replaced with a new topic so it may be a little difficult for children to follow the learning.

1.3          Source of learning technology used by the teachers

The sources of learning materials used in class are books and modules and each topic has different objectives and activities. There are two types of books, Teacher's Guidebooks and English Books for Students.

For the tools used by teachers when teaching in class, teachers present material using PowerPoint presentations and use the TV that is available in the classroom to show it to students. For video material, the teacher uses the TV in the classroom to play video material.

1.4          Authentic Assessment used by the teachers

Teachers assess their students with practice questions that cover content they have already taught or continue from the previous lesson to be covered the following day. The teacher's assessment is then reviewed with the class at the following meeting to determine whether the students have understood it or are ready to move on to the next topic.
