1.1 Teaching procedures
Before starting demo teaching, the coordinator teacher and I prepared the classroom that would be used for demo teaching, lesson plans, and also learning media. Learning begins by greeting students. After the speech, the activity continued with a group prayer led by one of the students. After that I took class attendance and counted how many students were absent that day.
1.2 Time management and organization of activities
Learning time in one period is 60 minutes. I use the first 10 minutes to do Introductory Activities and examples, 20 minutes to engage, explore and explain, and 30 minutes for evaluation, and assignments. During the teaching demonstration, before carrying out the evaluation, I realized that the time I had used had run out so I had not had time to evaluate the assignments I gave to my students.
1.3 Classroom management
Seventh grade has the characteristics of students who are attentive to the teacher who teaches in class. During teaching observations and demonstrations, it is not difficult for me to organize the class so that it can focus on the learning process. I just use the method of calling all the students by saying the words “Students or Children in Filipino" to attract their attention. The part where I have less control is when I have to give them assignments. The students really want to do group work rather than individual work, so I gave them group assignments in addition to the assignments I had given in my presentation.
1.4 Problem solving during teaching and stay at the designated school
I didn't experience many problems while working as a demo teacher or attending classes. Creating lesson plans and learning resources was the single most difficult task I had to complete for a teaching demo. I have to consider what activities I have to do in the RPP and what I will do because the RPP is much simpler than the RPP in Indonesia, but the details of the activities carried out are much more detailed. Regarding media and presentations, I was a bit confused about what I should do but thankfully grace was given to the mentor who advised me to use several new methods such as "Tarpapel" to support more varied activities and it was proven that the learning became more enjoyable.
